What's the most we can do?

This was a question I had on my mind for sometime.
And last year, something happened which answered it in full.
At the end of September I managed to take two weeks away from work.
The first week was spent in a small house in the mountains, gardening and going about general D.I.Y repairs in the Tarn, France. Each day was a bit cold and grey, and I have to admit, slightly depressing. Was this going to be the extent of my much needed break from running one of the largest retreat centres in the UK?
By the end of the week, I moved out of the mountains, and into the sunnier climes of the Languedoc.
I stayed at a lovely little 'gite' hidden away in the countryside.
It turned out to be the most amazing week of my life.
The area is steeped in stunning gorges, rivers and the sweet smell of herbs on the warm air of the garrigue is never far away. It was so deliciously warm and dry.
I was overcome by a sense of wanting to write, which was the last thing I expected. So I purchased a decent pen and a couple of exercise books, the type children use for schoolwork.
I sat on the sunny terrace and began to scribble.
Within a couple of days, I had filled the two notebooks.
I brought all the local places into the story, and everything which happened became part of the spiritual fantasy novel I was writing. Journeys and visits became part of that story, as did people and places.
I returned to the UK feeling fulfilled, and went back to work as usual.
A few months later, an unexpected debacle at work led to many changes, including my departure.
It was a difficult few months.
Then I remembered my book.
I started transcribing it onto the computer, and contacted a few people.
Each person responded positively, and I spent the next 7 months working solidly on the manuscript.
Following the synchronicity of the Soul, I found a literary agent and manager, and collaborated with a Grammy Award Winning producer and a talented young script writer.
Now, life has changed yet again.
I have a near completed novel 'The Soul Whisperer' and I am doing the work that I LOVE.
Through words and music, I feel I am contributing my utmost, and can actually feel the resonance of that in my being. It's like I know without knowing or doubt, and that brings fulfillment.
It's as if that time in France provided me with not only a new career path, but also the answer to my question. So what's the answer?
Well, I think the most we can do is find and follow what we LOVE, for in doing so we converge with the light of the Soul. The true nature of the Soul works for the totality. So in following Soulness (the consciousness of the Soul), we all contribute uniquely, but benefit the individual and the whole.
Soul is Whole.
Holy Soul!

By the way, the novel is called 'THE SOUL WHISPERER' - please visit my new website which will be online from February 2015.
